Help Image keeps downloading on its own. Help

Samsung Galaxy S6 Active 64gb ATT. Stock Phone

So, I've had this new S6 for a couple weeks. And I've noticed that a photo keeps showing up in my gallery of some logo. If I delete it, it shows back up again in my gallery later in the day.

Can anyone help me as to how to stop it from downloading? I'm attaching the image itself, and also the "details" from the photo.

I just went into my files and found the BMWGROUP folder. I deleted it.... Not sure how it got there... Let's see if that works???? Will update if that fixes it.

I deleted that file, and the file returned along with the logo. I read somewhere something about a .nomedia text file. But I haven't dug much further. It's really annoying.

Having the same problem with the same exact image on my galaxy s6, I'm worried it has to do with the "android.Xiny.19.origin" virus. I am currently researching this, I would recommend you do the same.

The basic premise of the virus is that it is hidden within an app, and it downloads seemingly harmless images which have hidden .apk files which it unpacks and runs to perform malicious functions. Worried this is one of these images.

Also I have Verizon so it is clearly independent of carrier.

And I have read that deleting the bmwgroup folder has no impact on pandora's function and the folder seems to regenerate and re-download the image. Definitely cause for concern.

I have multiple friends that are having this same issue. We tried deleting Pandora and the com.pandora folder. If you do this and don't download Pandora again it goes away. However if you add Pandora back it just happens again. They all have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Any tips would be appreciated but I am going to start looking into that virus now.

A nomedia file is simply an empty text file named "nomedia.txt" and it tells the CPU not to look in that folder for images. Just open Notepad on your PC, save as nomedia.txt and copy that empty text file to the folder where this graphic is.

Not only does it recreate the Pandora logo, but it recreates the bmwgroup folder that it resides in. I've tried to delete this folder and it keeps reappearing. I'm on a Galaxy S6 Edge... Any ideas how to permanently remove the folder?

Pandora app keeps replacing it. It is either needed by the app or it is part of some advert system they use. Root users can probably install adaway or even moab mod to get rid of it if its ad related. Otherwise just use the no media file method or try another app.

I have the same problem. I deleted the file and the folder and pandora. And it just keeps coming back. It didnt start till i uninsulated pandora when i switch to spotify.

I've just emailed Pandora to see if they will address it or at least acknowledge it. I'd prefer to not discontinue my use of Pandora.

Not that this is going to solve the immediate issue, but here's the reply from Pandora. If anyone finds a solution in the meantime, please post.

I've noticed a folder called "bmwgroup" that keeps reappearing on my phone after I keep deleting it and in it contains another folder called "com.pandora.android" which contains (among other files) a Pandora icon that keeps appearing in with all my other photos on my phone. I'm assuming there is an affiliation between Pandora (which I love, by the way) and BMW, but what can I do to permanently avoid this bmwgroup folder from continuing to install on my phone. Is there a setting in my Pandora app that I can try? There's a forum from other android users regarding this same issue - http://androidforums.com/threads/image-keeps-downloading-on-its-own-help.996588/#post-7219663
In it, you may see some recommendations to switch from Pandora to Spotify. Is this the only alternative or is Pandora working on a solution?

I have a Samsung Note 5 and it doesn't seem to have Notepad. Any other suggestions?

I'm having the same problems for the past week and my phone has froze and ran slow for the first time since I got it months ago...

I've had the same issue on my S5, even on my tablet without using the app.

I use quickpic gallery on both devices and just remembered I can hide the folder from view. I'll see how this works and let you guys know.
