I find it very hard to believe that Sprint will charge everyone $10 no matter what.

There is no way.

I am not in a 4G city, so i still have to pay the mandatory $10? I cant believe that.

In order to provide the best experience, HTC EVO 4G will use Sprint's industry-leading Everything Data or Business Advantage Messaging and Data plans that include unlimited Web, texting and calling on the Sprint Network to every mobile in America with Any Mobile, AnytimeSM. Everything Data plans start at $69.99 per month. A $10 per month Premium Data add-on will apply allowing customers to take advantage of a richer data experience than ever before.

Maybe the $10 will be for features like the video conferencing and other media stuff.

Its impossible for Sprint to charge people for a service that doesnt exist in some places.

If you look at it that way--that sounds bad.

So how about .30 PER DAY. Now that sounds OK. Yes?

It's total cost of ownership. That's why I never get people who only look at the price of the subsidized device...as if a $30 or $40 difference up front is anything compared to a plan that costs $30 or $40 more per month. Every time my monthly bill goes up by $10 or $20, yearly cost of the device goes up $120-240. That is what I look at.

My old 3G Win Mobile phones cost me $55/month. The new plans bumped that to $70. Now it will be $80. That's $300 more per year than I was paying a year ago.

Not saying I'm not gonna buy it. Not saying it's still not competitive. Just saying it's disappointing and a poor business move in my personal opinion.

AT&T *lowered* data plan costs to sell people on iPhones even though it increased data usage on the network. This was a smart business move because it sold more iPhones and made them more money in the long run. Putting up barriers to adoption will slow sales and it will lower the number of people coming from other carriers to Sprint.

it's cheaper than ANYONE truly expected

Not me. I expected to keep my plan and buy this subsidized for $199.

so it's official then

+ $10 for the EVO regardless if you're in a 4G area or not
+ $30 (optional) if you want to use the hotspot feature

Class action lawsuit anyone? It's never a good idea to make people pay extra fees for something can't access. lol

this is funny. I read it as its gonna cost me an additional $10 per month period, everyone wants to see it a certain way? anything less would just be a bonus. Now how many of you said you would be willing to spend more than $199. Subtract $199 from what you would have been willing to pay and then spread that out over the 12 months and it will be less than $10 per month.

Its all a matter of how you want to look at it. I dont know how much I will use the internet on the phone as I dont do much now, but I do know I have 30 days to decide if it is for me, after that I will have the tough decision, or maybe, just maybe the phone will sell itself at whatever the price is? Lets hope.
