Galaxy S5 TMobile unable to update to version 4.4.4

I purchased this a while back used on ebay for too much money and now it seems I stuck with it. Every single thing on it works except it will not connect to a cell phone carrier. I took it to multiple T-Mobile stores and tried to get it connected to no avail. TMobile reps have no clue what is wrong. If it will not update the Android version or connect to cell network but everything else works GPS, WiFi, Play Store, etc., then what could be wrong with it? Could it be a fake? Does anybody have any thoughts they would care to share?

After it reboots the message it gives is "Failed to update software. Update Failed. Your device will recover the original configuration"

Try using one of Samsung's PC tools to restore/update your device,either Smart Switch OR KIES3:

Also,use this app to see if your phone has been altered by the previous owner:

If the Knox indicator says 0x1,it's been modified at some point & most likely,not restored to stock/unrooted out-of-the box condition,or worse,it's a fake.
This app should be able to identify the hardware,if it's the real deal,or a fake.
 
I tried the sammobile download x 2. 1st download failed at 99%. 2nd one failed upon zip file extraction. Each download took two hours per. I will try the forum.xda-devs download option tomorrow.
