I am thinking about getting an EVO but i don't have an upgrade at this time. I was wonder if i got a new line with the EVO on it then moved my hero over to the new line then canceled the new line if they would let me keep the evo or would they want it back?
 
Nope you would/could get charge full price for the EVO, now if you are willing to pay additional to have a second line you can always do that and once you get your mail in rebate change the phone to your main line. My youngest brother works for Burger King and he gets a 23% corporate discounts on all Sprint plans and no activation fee, he has two lines and for the past 2 years he has been doing the following; he would open a new line (second line on his 1500 data shared) to get the phone that he wants and at month 3 he will flip the phones, then at 12 months he would cancel the second line and pay the ETF $140.00 which means that he paid $179.99 + $140.00= $319.99 yeah pretty high for a phone yet still $100.00 less than the retail price and he didn't have to worry about not been able to get the phone he likes/wants.

Let's say he get the Evo for $179 on an extra line. Plus at least $30-$40 a month for 12 months for that extra line, plus EFT $140 = around $750.
I would just buy it out right.
 
Stop it!! You are using logic. Didn't you know our whole consumer economy would collapse if more people thought like you?? :D

that wold be correct if he is already using 2 lines on the everything data 1500 shared plan, otherwise the second line would be free plus maybe $7.00 if he decides to get the TEP and if he does not have a corporate discount, i/e lets say he works for Burger King, they get 23% discount on all plans (not the $99.99 simply everything) that would make the plan $101.00 before taxes, and there is no activation fee.
