Help getting TF700T rooted to work properly

plato2

Lurker
Model: TF700T
Android Version: 6.0.1
Kernel Version: 3.1.10 katkernel-tf700
Build: Katkiss-024.6.0.1

Just bought the above and have the following issues: I believe it is rooted, says Device is unlocked top right on power up. Has no play store app when put back to factory reset and I can’t seem to get play store to work – just flashes. The apps on it are music/browser/email/contacts/downloads/gallery/camera/calculator/settings/terminal emulator.

If I go to settings there is a SuperSU – clicking on it I get Unfortunately, settings has stopped.

If I go to Accounts I have Personal (IMAP) and + Add Account where I only have Exchange and Personal (IMAP).

I don’t know what to do to get this working properly and would appreciate any help so I can add apps to it and also learn the benefit of having a rooted android.

Sideload gapps for 6.0, sounds to me like the bootloader is unlocked and it's running a custom OS.

TF700T, that's an Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, which certainly wouldn't come from the manufacturer rooted. Sounds like someone has loaded some custom ROM, Katkiss, and things aren't working as they should, i.e. it's crashing and unstable. How to fix it, you'll either have to re-flash the original Transformer Pad Infinity ROM, or find another, possibly updated custom ROM for this tablet that works properly.

This is our All Things Root forum for this device, which might have some useful info. :thumbsupdroid:
