No Mobile data while on phone call... Verizon

Hi all...

I have an S7 Edge and love it. However, over the last month or so I have been getting the popup message "Mobile data not available while on this call" when Im on a call. I have advanced calling activated through Verizon and turned on. When I contacted customer support they said that there had to be a 4g connection in order for data to work while on a call. I live in LA so there is 4G everywhere and tbh....when I had my LG G2 I never had this issue. Any insight that would help me would be great!

Make sure you have activated advance calling. I have Verizon and use voice and data all the time. The Advance Calling is necessary for that to work though.

Yes, but look on your account features to make sure your line is provisioned correctly.

Also, pop out the SIM, while the phone is on, so device re-registers with the network.

Just a few things to try..not saying that will fix your issue.

The 4G radio is also separate on the Samsung. I keep data on during calls on my S7 Edge with nonissues.

On the OP, this may be a carrier tampered firmware issue though. Try getting GreenPower free. I think the option to keep data on while on call is available on it. If that toggle works, then it's a carrier firmware tampering I'd think.

No the edge7 has 1 radio. That is why simultaneous data and voice are not possible in 3G. You must have a good 4G signal. Older phones are able to call and use data simultaneously even in 3G. New phones only have 1 radio that must split duty.
