Samsung S5 SM-G900I

Here are the details of my phone which has a Taiwanese firmware and the phone details are as below :
Model: SM-G900I
Version: G900IZTU1BPD1/G900IZZT1BPD1/G900IZTU1BPD1/G900IZTU1BPD1
OS: Lollipop(Android 5.0)
Filename: SM-G900I_1_20160408111853_91n2lbiuv1.zip.enc4
Size: 1539803680 bytes

When I try to install an Australian generic or Telstra firmware on the phone using ODIN 3.10.7, towards the end it fails with a ext4 error. It gets the pit file and starts loading almost till the end but fails and also states 2547 mbytes less than 5576 mbytes. I want to load the Australian firmware version or if I can install the Indian marshmallow version 6.0.1 recently released. Is it that we need to load the pit file depending on the country / firmware fir it to load without failing. If so where do we get the PIT files for corresponding firmware version. Any help is highly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Enjeti :)

In the normal course of events, you should never need to be changing or flashing .PIT files when flashing a stock firmware as it can brick your phone and render it unusable. .PIT files are model and firmware sensitive and not to be used unless you know exactly what you are doing and are a competent and experienced user.

Just download the stock Samsung firmware for India, or wherever, and flash it to your phone by following the instructions and video contained in the links of #1.11 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide and leave, "Repartition", unchecked in Odin.

Hi Ironass Thank you for your very prompt response. I did try to flash both the XSA and the Telstra firmware but both times it crashed towards the end and ODIN had a failed message. If the PIT is dependent on the phone model and the firmware version then technically when I try to flash with any other version other than the Taiwanese version then it will not work isn't it. In such an instance without having the correct PIT, then how will I flash any other firmware other than that which came with the phone. I have extensively searched Google but to no avail. So any help without bricking the device is highly appreciated.

The correct .PIT files for each stock firmware are contained in the stock Samsung firmware download, which is flashed in AP: in Odin. No separate .PIT flashing required.

Thank you for your response. Then I am not sure why it fails when flashing Hidden.img file .....
