Help Unwanted music clips stored by games

Phalon4

Android Enthusiast
I have an issue with music files being stored on my phone from games and apps that I don't put there. Most are the size of 3 to 10 second's clips and I'm also finding them in my PowerAMP music list that's coming from my phone's File Manager. How do stop games from downloading music clips on my device? The device is an Alcatel One Touch Fierce XL.
Thanks,

Poweramp has an option to only play files from certain folders in its settings. Omit the ones you don't want to play

Thanks but l knew that already, but the issue is to stop games from downloading sound clip to my phone. When l mentioned PowerAMP I was starting where l discovered there was sound clips being downloaded into my phone by games apps.

What actually games are they, and where are you installing them from, Google Play or somewhere else?

Games shouldn't be downloading sound clips on their own. Game sounds are usually contained within the installed APK and shouldn't appear in the music player at all.

Frankly what's happening just doesn't sound right, and I've never had anything like that.

Well I'm assuming it's coming from Sky Force reloaded, Victor 2 both from Google Play store or Tanks recon 3D. That's the only games I have installed. Or it may be that game that comes from ABOUT in settings game where Lolly pop pops up after you long press it to open the game in developers mode. I've also had Alto email app from AOL to install notifications sounds into my file manager that automatically end up in my PowerAMP music player.

If you know where the particular games are storing their downloaded sounds, you could insert .nomedia files in their folders, that way they music player would ignore them. I've certainly never had to do this for games though.

Could you please elaborate further on nomedia being installed and where to/ and how because this is the first time me dealing with this issue?

.nomedia files are stored on Android devices, or on external storage cards connected to an Android device. They tell Android these folders should not be scanned and indexed by multimedia players. This is a good article on how to do it.

So I think you'd have to find where these games are storing their music files, might be under /android/obb/ or /android/data/ in the internal storage. But they'd probably be something like the names of the actual games or their publishers.

Might even be worth contacting the offending game's developers, perhaps others have had the same problem with them. Possibly the devs could change and update them, so it no longer happens. Like adding the .nomedia themselves, or packaging their games sounds and musics in a different manner, so they don't get picked-up by music players.

I use Rocket Player myself mostly, and that does its own music indexing, and can configure it to just look for MP3s in the /music folder on the SD, and don't look anywhere else.
