I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm using a droid, running rooted 2.1. I downloaded the .apk and installed it normally (using astro if that matters). Set it as my keyboard in settings, and it doesn't respond to me "swiping". it traces, and when i lift my finger the keyboard flashes blue and doesn't input anything. However, i can type normally...what am I doing wrong?

Ok uninstall it and reinstall it. But this time try installing from the downloads screen in your browser. I airways have issues when I install an app using astro. I have been ruining mine for the last couple days andno force closes or anything. I had some fc issues with shape writer and was happy to finally start using swype it is amazing I will never go back to shape writer. Basically just reinstall it.

This is probably a dumb question but I'm a future android user and am just wondering if you can easily change between traditional text input and swype easily?

haha ok. And how would you go about doing that? Messaging settings? Or is there like a change input function somewhere?

Just long click in a text entry box and the input method box will pop up. Then just choose Swype.

Also, don't forget to select Swype under settings/keyboard.

Easy as pie.

Had the same problem and all I had to do was reboot my phone now it works like a champ.

Did you get it working? Did you long click the text box and switch input method?

I have a WVGA display on my Liquid A1 but that did not work for it due to the resolution on the Droid being different from the Liquid.

Anybody have a leak for the Liquid or Nexus or Incredible or any 480x800 phone?

Search for that file name in Google replacing the word Droid with Nexus, you get a tweetmeme result.

This links you to the file which works with the 480x800 resolution WVGA screens. Dl it, change it from .apk.zip to .apk, put it on ur sdcard and run it.

hey question here..i installed the swypeincredible.apk and used astro and when i go thru tutorial i seem to never finish it or do something wrong..i go to send sumone a txt and the swype keyboard is there but wont work..

Installed swype on my Dinc. Getting a message, "Swype package you installed does not match the screen size of the device. Please contact Swype about this issue. SCreen size:480x800."

Also........doesn't appear to work in landscape mode.

Any advice to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks...

I just put it onto my SD card and installed it using Astro. Had to allow non Market apps to be installed. Went to write a message, Keyboard types, and it wasn't there. Rebooted the phone and it's still not there. Does the phone have to be Rooted for this work??

Thanks,
