Auto switch profiles

Hope I can get some help here.
To put it simply my tasker profiles refuse to automatically switch even though I have it set to switch by the time of day.
I have checked tasker in the background apps clear white list, in device admin, in services and whiteliated power nap app. Ive also unchecked 'reduce resource usage' in tasker preferences.
Im not sure what else i can do.

I do not understand what you are trying to do. "refuse to automatically switch"?

Can you post an example?

... Thom

The opposite, I want them to switch at the time I set to switch but it's not happening unless you open tasker manually then it switches.

My guess is that your profiles are overlapping or you need an exit task. Try either changing one of your tasks to 9:59a.m. and 11:59p.m. or adding an exit task to your 12:00a.m. to 10:00a.m. task

That suggests to me that the Tasker service is getting killed by android memory management or by a 3rd party app (so as soon as you manually restart it by opening tasker everything fires correctly). What to do about that...

Unchecking "reduce resource usage" in Tasker settings was a good idea.
Some other things I'd also suggest
1 - in Tasker settings, add a check next to "run in foreground" to prevent it from being killed.
2 - If you are in Marshmallow, I'd suggest going to system settings and removing Tasker from battery optimization (app doze).
3 - Consider removing all 3rd party apps you have to manage memory or manage other apps (you referred to "background apps clear white list", "power nap app") and see if android manages better without the extra 3rd party apps. You might have good reasons to use these apps, but be aware that in some situations these apps can cause more problems than they solve.
