Google Play Movies - How big are the files?

Hey all,

I'm going to be flying long haul this weekend and thought I'd download a few movies watch on my Gear VR. Unfortunately, even with a 64Gb SD card installed, I have a fairly limited amount of available memory on my phone. Can anyone give me a guide as to how big the file size is for say a 2 hour movie downloaded from Google Play in HD?

IIRC an HD movie is about 2-4 GB.

If you have movies on a PC you can transfer those to the external SD card and watch them on your mobile

Hey Dannydet...the problem is that I have limited space on my SD card and I don't want to spend money on several movies then find I can't fit them on! Unfortunately, Google Play doesn't give you an indication of file size prior to purchase/download (at least none that I can see).

I believe Google play will inform you if the file will fit on your device prior to the download.

How about using an OTG cable, with a thumb drive?
