Help Remove persistent WeatherBug notification in Android 6.0.1?

I use the WeatherBug app to place the temperature in the notification bar up top.

However, it also places a persistent notification on the lock screen, which is messy when using a landscape lock screen.

Any ideas?

Go into the settings/manage applications/all.
Scroll to the WeatherBug app, and go to the "notifications" option and block them.
That should do it :D

Nope, that also disables the temperature being shown in the notification bar, which is why I have it installed.

Maybe this will work. In the WeatherBug app itself, tap on the hamburger menu (three vertical lines) in the upper right and select 'Alert Notifications' and then 'Locations'. De-select 'All Locations' or if you have multiple cities you can pick and choose which ones to show up in your Notification bar.
