Looking for suggestions on an app...

Here's what I'm looking for, I'll keep it simple and to the point.

Details - The app would just track/notify personel.
-We currently run an on call system on our days off that can earn extra cash by call.
-From a pool of defined individuals, 2 of them are on call at any given time.
-We all take turns taking the predefined on call schedule, but sometimes we can give away our "spot".
-If one or both steps out for any reason (life/busy/out of area), the pool would be notified and another can step up in his/her place so the "service call" isnt missed.
-And if the 2 individuals specified to be on call stepped out, and wish to return to "back in service" the others who temporarily stepped up would be notifed and moved back down (per say).
-A push notification would be great, as everyone is aware of any changes at all times.

Example - Syncing everyone to - "Mygrocerylist" app works in a very unorthodox way but doesnt use any push notifications which would be nice. Also texting each other until you find a replacement gets old too.

Any suggestions on any app that can help manage this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for any input!

In sense yes. We get overtime per call, but only 2 of us can come to the call so we take rotations, which we can plan. But we cant always be ready to take the call so we step down and other can step up in our place until were available again. Mainly it would just be some sort of app that manages notifications in a central place I guess? it beats texting 10 different guys trying to find one at the last minute who is available, and then retexting when your available again.

I dont really have any idea how much apps cost to make but I dont want to sink a tremendous amount of cash into it. Worst comes to worst we will just continue texting each other I would think, unless I get a buy in from everyone. I just thought with all the apps out there, there should be something we can get away with without having to start from scratch. Being free or having each to pay up to 10 each from the play/apple store.

MyGroceryApps works similar to this, without push notifications. Its used to share a common lists between users for grocery shopping. But we have found you can use it to organize just about anything else. (- the push)

You could maybe use a messenger app such as Telegram.

Set up a separate group for each time period (with a descriptive name) with the allocated personnel as members. When they post stand downs or take overs everyone will be informed and the messages are timed. Push notifications are available in these apps.

a good idea, in the telegram you can really make a lot of

You know what, this is great and at least a start. Im going to try the suggestion above and let you know.

Thanks to everyone for a positive experience here and the help. Sometimes even the easiest answers can be overlooked.

Cheers Gentlemen.

You could use DropBox and create a shared folder with a .doc file containing the most up to date list of the two people on call and the descending order of alternates. There is no push notification, to my knowledge. However, whenever one person updates the list, it will automatically sync up with everybody's device, as long as they have data or wifi. I think it would be easier to go to one file source to find the most up to date list than to have to scroll through recent messages to figure out who is on call.
