Hmm what kind of bullets are these??

I was digging around my grandparents stuff... and found these... I attached them so you can see at the bottom of this message :)

Hmm very interesting... I have never seen bullets like these before...

Any gun lovers or clever people that know what they are?

Why the heck do ALL my pictures come out sideways???

Starting to annoy me a bit now... tried rotating bit still lol oh well :)

They look like the kind of bullets that kill people dead.

Or maybe these:

Very very interesting!

Thanks for your knowledge no one buddy :)

So they dont just penetrate normally kind of thing?

They kill people dead? Does this mean they are more extreme? Does it just rip things apart?

Very interesting... how does it work exactly? :)

Very cool... I know my family can't stand the crime and madness that goes on here so I am not surprised they got some more extreme stuff or what is considered more extreme... hmm very very cool!

Does anyone know how they work exactly? Or why they are more effective or possibly more extreme? Does it break apart or something kind of like a shot gun but only once it hits on impact?

Very cool!

Fascinating :)

Interestingly, police use this kind of ammunition "to reduce civilian casualties through over-penetration". That presumably means the bullet stays inside the target, but causes widespread damage to tissue.
You really wouldn't want to be shot with one of these would you?

Hahaha no ways!

I would never want to get hit by that! Haha thanks LV426 :D

Wow very very interesting stuff... that is very fascinating Dngrsone...

Hmm thanks guys!

I wonder what other kinds of ammunition exist?

Very interesting :)

I love knowledge so I did some research and heard of an i.teresting kind if ammunition called explosive rounds!!

Kick ass hey??!?!

Wow how cool is that!?

Lol hollow point got nothing on that :D

Hmmmm I wonder what other kinds of rounds exist?

Does anyone know out of interest sake? :)

Those "wadcutter" hollowpoints as they are sometimes known and explosive bullets are highly illegal in the US without a large number of permits. That guy on YouTube probably went through a lot of red tape to post those videos. My personal favorite round was a round only available to Armed Services and Police. The teargas round fired from an M79 causes quite a show. Cool sound too, Bloop!

I think more than fragmenting, they remain in one piece, but peel open like the petals on a flower. They do in fact "reduce the problem of over penetration"; All the energy winds up going into, and remaining within the target, not merely the amount required to zip through the target.
Someone is always working on "a better mousetrap", there are varieties that have a little post dead center of the hollow in the point; Designed to further shape and direct the shock wave on impact, enhance the peeling effect.

It only takes an inch Stinky

I'm more interested in where he's at. The splash screen and the guy makes me think of the former CCCP. Anything goes in those territories if you can afford it.

Have you heard about Rubber Bullets? 1 death in Boston at a baseball game if you can believe it. But I haven't heard about any others. Maybe in Northern Ireland? That's a part of Boston ya know. Boston is the Hub of the universe.

Have never shot in anger, only for fun, and never had any interest in shooting an animal.

But I will say: On one occasion at the range a real birdie flew across the field......And the next thing I knew; I had the barrel up, and was tracking it with my sights, purely on instinct. Didn't pull the trigger, but it was fascinating to look at myself and see that that little switch get flipped in my brain. I'm still not at all interested in hunting, but it shure forced me to not be quite so hard on the people who do want to.

Never heard of, assume glaser slug is little BBs in a jacket strong enough to survive until it actually impacts something? How big BBs, plastic jacket? Weighs same as a slug?
Edit: Able to survive down a rifled barrel, or does it have a rifled sabot?

Found by the side of a trail just yesterday afternoon.

Fairly large piece of undeveloped land, but in a rural enough region, it's pretty hard to imagine any of this kind of horseplay going on (And no game). As in: No animals to be had there. AND not just plinking at cans, with this), am I right? o_O
But it's clear it had been in the dirt for a rather long time, times change.
(Bolt face cleaned up for the pix)

I had heard of the round designation, but never held one, never sent one downrange.
What is there to be said about it, (beyond just the 45-70 Wikipedia page)?
Readily available at any well stocked shop?
Modern equipment chambered for it, or kind of obsolete?
One of those you buy 10 at a time, and don't expect much change from a large bill.......You think about it a little harder than "normal" before each time you expend one?
Just curious.
