Help SwiftKey: why won't periods and commas get moved back after I use space?

I just switched from an S4 to an S7 and I set up Swiftkey again. One thing I'm noticing that it does a lot (that it never did before ) is that when I press space and then use certain punctuation like commas, periods, and even parenthesis, it doesn't always move the punctuation back one space and put it next to the last word I typed .

See , just now with that period and this comma. Why aren't they being moved backwards like they used to? I don't see a setting for this.

It also happened up above with the parenthesis after "before . " And again just now! Ugh!

Thanks.

Some of the upper letters and symbols don't work with a long press. I quit using it for the same reason.
Using Smart Keyboard Pro.
Also own Super Keyboard pro and Fleksy.

From some of the updates, looks like Swiftkey is trying to gain the crowd that can't spell and depends on emojis and other cutesies to communicate.

Those things are nice - in their place.

I've seen it as well, and sounds like it could be a bug or feature in the current release. Although in Chinese(pinyin input) it still seemed to be OK. I've gone back to an older version I downloaded from apkmirror.

I can't imagine it's a feature. There's never a time when you want a space in front of those particular punctuation marks.

What I'm noticing is that in many places SwiftKey is actually doing the right thing. Apps like Gmail, for example, and in the SwiftKey app itself.

But in places like this (forums), it doesn't move the punctuation backwards like it should. It must have something to do with the type of form Swiftkey thinks it's typing in.
