Pre Orders?

My local VZW stores didn't even know of the launch. LMAO

Or that they even Press released the phone.

Needless to say, no pre-orders.
 
Yeah, I heard a verizon employee saying they will not be accepting pre-orders for some reason. But I don't know how reliable that person was.

they don't tell the grunts anything. they dont want them suggesting the droid, they want them selling whatever is in-stock now and then upselling the droid later. :)
 
I don't see how they could not do pre orders unless they have a ton in stock. There might be a bunch of pissed off people next Friday.

they didn't do pre-orders with the Storm when it first came out. Considering the hype-train Verizon had behind that device, i'd be surprised if they do preorders for the Droid
 
I'll be doing the same if I can't find more info. I'm just scared that all VZW stores are not getting it.

When the Iphone 3G came out my dad tried four stores that never got one.

I just called my local one and the clown didnt even know about the press release today. Says they dont have a release date. I mean WTF. Why do they let them even answer the phone
 
Yeah, but you guys have to remember... a lot of the people in these stores... it's just a job. They come in and sell the stuff. There might be a few of them who are really into the stuff and researching the new phones etc... but most of them are probably more concerned about getting their paycheck and going out drinking on Friday night. There is training material available on this stuff.. but that doesn't mean they take every single employee and train them on the latest gear a week before it's released. I think most people who visit phandroid and android forums know 100x more about these phones than 95% of the salespeople at Verizon stores.

That is very true. I just wouldnt let them answer the phones around launch times like this unless they know what they are talking about. Oh well rant over, i will just wait till next Friday

I was thinking that would be the best way too. They've got that free overnight shipping thing going right now. You only have to wait an extra day for the phone but you don't have to wait in line or deal with people. I'm anxious to get this phone, but one day is not a big deal.
