Help LG G5 cannot connect to 4G LTE?

uuytghj

Lurker
I bought a Sprint G5 (LS992) and am using it in Canada, however I have never been able to connect to 4G LTE even though I am sure it works on my carrier's LTE network (Public Mobile, which uses Telus's network). I could still call, text and use data on 3G HSPA+ but not LTE.
I checked the Network type and strength under Mobile networks and only see 3G -65dBm.
In 4G settings under Mobile networks there are two options, one is the Network operator which I could not press into it and the other one being IP address which shows me "0.0.0.0"

Tried to enable LTE by switching the network mode to LTE/CDMA only but not even able to connect to the network (no calls no text nothing)

I am pretty sure G5 is capable of using LTE but just don't know why I am not the one using it.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Different carriers use different LTE bands. Have you checked that exact model of G5 vs the bands used by your carrier? I'd normally check myself before replying but only have a minute now.

From LG's website the G5 is a 4G phone which is backward compatible with 3G network. So something must be wrong with either your network subscription or your phone's settings.

Did you try to reset your phone to factory setting?

Yes I did that too but nothing changed, and I went to save mode to see if there was any app causing the issue but still cannot see 4G. I'm wondering maybe sprint blocked my LTE access. lol
