GMAIL ICON NOT DISPLAYING NUMBER OF UNREAD MAILS

Hi,

I have an old Galaxy S3 and up until a few weeks ago, the Gmail icon on the phone would display a number on it that represented the number of unread emails on it. Then, it suddenly stopped doing so. I called both the my service provider and Google. Google told me this feature was no longer available. Does anyone else know this to be true?

Thanks.

Hey there

Wlcm to our forums.

That was in earlier versions of the App I guess.

Now its changed with the update and won't show you the no of unread emails on that app.

Thanks

The combination of Nova Launcher and Tesla Unread should give you that feature...

(think you need the paid for version of Nova, but its on sale at the moment.... )

It is available in the google play store.... Normally its around the $5 i think if you're in the US... at the moment its on sale so its $1 or less.

Nova Launcher is free... then you install Nova Launcher Prime to unlock the 'enhanced' features

(I'm in the UK, so pricing is a bit different over here... but suffice it to say I bought it at full price, and it was worth every penny. If anyone is in the UK, I think its on sale here as well)

Someone else was asking about it the other day...

Thanks. So, I guess it's not me. Do you know how much Nova is? Is this something I can install from Google Play?
I downloaded the two apps. TeslaUnread is a separate icon on my phone which I must tap to see what unread messages I have. It's not really the same as previous where the number of unread emails displayed directly on the gmail icon.

I wonder why Google removed this feature. It seemed pretty useful. In any event, I provided Google with my feedback.

Thanks.

If you go into "nova settings," and then "unread count badges" followed by "tesla settings "you can turn on counts for supported apps, facebook, gmail, inbox, messaging, phone etc....

You have to have Nova set as your default launcher... as thats where the counts are shown.

So, I purchased (it was on sale for $0.99) the Nova Launcher Prime and Tesla Unread. That seemed to have solved my problem regarding the unread badge counter. Thanks!

However, how I do I now change the Nova settings once I have initially changed them? For example, I originally set the homepage for to have the button rather than swipe option and for a "light" rather than "dark" screen. Although I tried the "Look and Feel" option under the Nova settings, I do not see the original options I had available to me. If possible, please assist. Thanks.

Touchwiz, and Nova Launcher are two separate launchers... with two different sets of settings.vf you tweak a setting in one, it won't effect the other one.
