app to silence a cell phone?

Hi, I am using LG stylo V. The phone has a feature to silence, vibrate only, or sound for the phone ring. But for some reason, it doesn't really work. After I select "silent," it just randomly jump back to "sound" automatically. Also, it definitely jumps back to "sound" automatically after a call comes in. How do I make it silent until I change the setting to others (sound or vibrate only)? Do I need to download an app for this? It was embarrassing when I was in a meeting. Thanks.

There are apps in the play store, I use volume controls 3.2

This app can't override the built-in volume control. That means, it still automatically jump to sound after a call comes in and also some times randomly. Maybe I should ask how to resolve this instead of downloading an app? Where in this forum should I ask about this tech problem?

Did you download, and install it? It overrides all volumes on my phone, a ZTE Grand Max plus... Works like a champ. I'm not saying it'll work for everyone, but try it and see.

Yes, I downlaod it and install it. It couldn't override the built-in volume control. maybe I should ask about how to resolve this problem?
