Help When uninstalling an app, is there anything residual?

[AshleyQuick]

Being a Windows user for years, I've become so accustomed to apps leaving behind traces when uninstalled (typically in the registry). Is it different with Android?

Generally speaking the majority of apps make a clean break from your system. But some do leave temporary files laying around. You can assist this by clearing the data of an app before uninstalling.

Also checking your folders every so often with a file browser you will get to know what folders and files should be there and what is messing up your device. This way you can be confident in removing messy apps.

Thank you.

SD Maid is an app that is good for getting rid of those files and I use it all the time. The feature is called "Corpsefinder" lol.

Sounds like an appropriate name! lol Thanks for the suggestion.

Fun fact:

In Android Lollipop, uninstalled apps leave temporary files called, "tombstones". Nope, I'm not making this up.

I believe you! lol

I wonder if that's how the "corpsefinder" locates them, lol.
