Android Application Delivery/Repository

Does anyone know if there will be application delivery on Android similar to other builds of Linux like Ubuntu... eg. will there be a repository where you can select applications to install on your phone?

Cause, um, that'd be awesome.

Yeah, absolute agree with your idea, I reach here by Google when starting thinking about this! It should be great and anwesome feature if Android support this.
