Iphone and Androis Users..Imessage

I have an Iphone 7 Plus and LG V20. I like to switch between the two on occasion but I'm having a problem with Imessage.

Those of you that have both OSs how do you get messages on you Android phone after you've inserted your SIM card. I have turned off Imessage and Face time on the Iphone before removing the SIM.

I am getting some messages from Iphone users but not all Iphone users. Any help appreciated.

Apple refuses to open their proprietary iMessage format to any other platforms so unless all your iMessage acquaintances also include you using SMS and MMS, you're going to have to accept being left out. Here's an article that does a better job at explaining things:

I don't understand why you might get messages from just some iPhone users. The classic iMessage problem is that if you are still signed in when you swap platforms Apple's systems will send all messages as (iOS only) iMessages rather than (standard) SMS. Conversely if you do sign out of it it should send messages as SMS. So all I can suggest is checking what successful and unsuccessful senders are doing differently - are both using iMessage, sending plain text or MMS, individual or group messages are the things that come to mind.

It may be on the iPhone users part, they are sending to you using iMessage, not SMS/MMS. Have them check their settings to be sure they have MMS and SMS checked as well as iMessage. They may have to delete any texts that you are on to 'unstick' it too.

For information, in iMessage green speech bubbles are good, while blue speech bubbles are bad and they need to check their settings.

Yes and no. If you never log into iMessage then it works just like regular texting. If you log in then it messes everything up. And no, they did not make that clear or easy for anyone. Silly Apple

Well, I only know this because most of my family have iPhones and they have no idea about settings or how to change them. It took me forever to get them all to fix their phones so we could group text. Grrrrr...
