Problem (Firmware upgrade encountered an issue)

Cyan_

Hi everyone
I have Samsung Galaxy GT-I9100, but there is a problem (since one week)

Now the screen is black and there are computer, mobile and yellow triangle in the middle; and this message appears "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again".

Knowing that:
1) I tried to install an official ROM using Odin 3.04, but it failed.
it was stuck on factoryfs.img for a while, then the following message was: "Complete(Write) operation failed".
Code:
<OSM> Enter CS for MD5..
<OSM> Check MD5.. Do not unplug the cable..
<OSM> Please wait..
<OSM> I9100XWLSD_I9100OJVLS6_I9100XXLS8_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.
<OSM> Checking MD5 finished Sucessfully..
<OSM> Leave CS..

<ID:0/007> File analysis..
<ID:0/007> SetupConnection..

<ID:0/007> Firmware update start..
<ID:0/007> boot.bin
<ID:0/007> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/007> factoryfs.img
<ID:0/007> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<ID:0/007> Added!!
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

2) I used Kies program (Tool > Firmware upgrade and initialization)
Then I typed the Model Name & Serial Number
and this message appeared: "Please check the model name and S/N and enter them again". Although the model name and S/N are correct.

3) I found different suggested solutions in many forums and videos youtube, but they did not help me.

4)The current situation is:
The phone is not rooted.
The phone can only enter download mode.
The Odin flash fails.
The ROM's version is 4.1.2.

What can I do?
Is there any hardware problem?
Sorry about my English (it isn't my mother tongue).

Off the top of my head, I'd say you might want to try an older version of Odin. 3.x might be too new for a Galaxy S2. You should also make VERY sure of your exact model and that the firmware matches. Samsung is notorious for having multiple model numbers for the same named device. Sometimes it's hard just to determine which phone you really have.

Beyond that, maybe (hopefully) @ironass could offer some helpful suggestions.

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciated.

My phone works great with Odin 3.04 and jelly bean firmware (I have owned my phone since 2011, and I've used Odin 3.04 to install jelly bean for several times).

However, this is the first time that I face this problem.
I don't know why I can't install a firmware, and why Kies doesn't consider the S/N as a valid s/n (even I take it from under the battery).

I hope to hear some suggestions, may be one of them becomes the effective solution.

Thanks again.

Thanks a lot.

Try a newer version like 3.07

Also you don't need download mode just flash the firmware on that screen. It'll work the same as download mode.

Ensure that you are using the latest version of Odin3, v3.12.3, and that you have, "Re-partition", unchecked in its settings.

I am now flashing the firmware again via Odin v1.85 (I read that this version is compatible with GT-I9100)
I'm waiting for ending the flashing.

If it isn't working, I'll use Odin 3.12.3

After two hours, I unplugged the cable, sorry but I have to.

I try to flash the UK firmware via Odin3 v3.12.3, but it failed in cache.img

I work with another suggestion:
1) I uninstall Kies
2) Then download drivers SAM-SUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones
3) Then I flash Full Repair Roms ( 4 files ) for Samsung Devices via Odin3 3.12.3

but it is uncompleted

Interesting... who instructed you to flash a PIT file?

PIT files are linked to the device model and firmware and flashing the wrong one can brick your phone. I would never normally advise users to flash these for the reasons mentioned. Unless you have altered your PIT file previously, there should be no reason to alter or flash it.

I asked in an android forum, before I wrote my question here, and the only solution which I was given is (4 Files - Full Repair Roms).
