I am not sure what you are asking here... Where are you looking, in your router? Your router only knows MAC addresses, not names or even IP addresses (not directly, although DHCP might know a devices name.Looking for an app that I can use to change the ID numbers of android devices on my wifi network to actual readable names.
I've seen several but am a newbie to the whole networking thing., Any ideas?

^^^ This is the answer... Although it doesn't have to be a very spendy one. My Asus RT-N66U has this capability, and it's about $60 refurbished, for a good home router expect to pay $100-$200, and a high-end one will be even more. If you are paying less than $50 you should probably just stay with what you have.You just need a decent router that allows you to assign names to devices.
