Help Otterbox cases for the S8

I have the Galaxy S8 now to hand and I had already purchased the OtterBox Defender Series for it, when I realised that it did not include any form of screen protector. I therefore purchased OtterBox Alpha Glass screen protector for the S8 and understood that this item was compatible with the Defender series.
Upon fitting the Alpha Glass, most accurately to the S8 and then attempting to put the S8 with the Alpha Glass into the two halves of the Defender case, the case did not close completely. Subsequently it was found that when it did close(?) it required VERY hard finger presses to operate the S8.

Uggh - not good! This is usually the case with full cover glass screen protectors. Most cases will not work with them and you'll have to purchase the standard non-glass film type protector that doesn't go to the edges.

I had a quick scan for tempered glass screen protectors that are case friendly and the olixar ones the guy uses in this video look to have enough space on each side for cases -

Not available in the UK yet though.

Nice! Looks like a promising option for those who want to go glass. It's about time someone has addressed the dreaded screen case confrontation.

Does anyone out there have the S8 combined with the Otterbox Defender and the Otterbox Alpha Glass combination fitted together satisfactorily?

I have a PureGear tempered that i'm using with the defender case. I heard some creaking noise when i pressed at the top and bottom of the phone. Then i noticed the otterbox was touching the screen saver in some places. I shaved down the inside edges of the case and the noise went away. But its still harder to pull down the notification menu with the case on and i have no idea why. Actually, compared to my S5 this menu seems harder to pull down in general
