I think I just got it. I went to spare parts and clicked on the tab for the end button, to go to sleep. It says 1.5 only, but appears to work.

install spare parts, go to settings in it, and turn off the end key options.

Thanks "Caddy" and "Jumpwire" it worked. I went to spareparts and did the following:

1. End button behavior
2. Chose "Go to sleep"

I appreciate your patience and help. Thanks again!
 
My battery life is horrible post the 2.1 OTA. I can barely get 4 hrs on a full charge... bringing it to Verizon today, great way to spend lunch
 
Prior to OTA (running 1.5) - weather was often wrong (i.e., the sun was shining at midnight). After OTA, weather is still often wrong, but when "clicking" on it to update, force close every time. :(

Other than that, everything seems pretty ok. Similar to others' experiences - didn't have many issues prior to OTA, still don't have many issues (and it does seem faster).

Separate question - on the new Power Widget - what is the 4th icon from the left? I recognize WiFi, Bluetooth, figured out GPS, don't know the next one, and the last one apparently is a quick toggle for bright/dim. Still had to add back my Beautiful Silence widget.
 
I installed the OTA on Friday, but I have been out of town all weekend. My biggest problem is MMS messages wont download ... it just says "downloading". I searched the Eris forum but had hundreds of results, but was unable to find a fix.

Seeing the same thing here; although I don't use Pandora. Did two factory resets after the OTA; first because it was just hinkey and seemed the right thing to do and second because the Vz tech guy was exasperated trying to solve (first no text second all calls were going to voicemail)

50% call problem remains; as does the phone display after ring and the FB sync

I had the google calendar issue (force close after pressing a day in the month view), that was resolved on one of the factory resets
 
Anyone having an issue with the password/lock screen? After the update, a password is required to unlock the phone. How is this removed?

You might want to take a look around the Menu > Settings > Security area to see if everything in there is the way you want it.

I think it may be an Exchange option that is required. Corporate email was added to the phone, and since that update, the password is required. Case solved.
 
Since the OTA, my pinch/zoom barely works. The browser opens with very tiny font (and I know I read about a fix or setting for that but cannot find it now), and when I try to pinch/zoom, either nothing happens, or it registers a touch on some part of the page and the browser starts going there. Pretty frustrating. I read OTD's post about letting the page load all the way, and it doesn't help.

As far as the zoomed out view goes when opening a page you can go to Browser > Menu > More > Settings and uncheck Open Pages In Overview to get a normal screen. This may affect pinch zoom as well, but not sure.

in settings, un-check "overview"
 
my OTA update was FINALLY available this morning when i woke up... upgraded... and now i cant select my default email or messaging aps... it wont let me clear the defaults to re set them. so every email and every text or mms ..I get double notifications
 
For those with the official 2.1 and have having problems with the weather, here's what Verizon says:

@VZWSupport To fix Eris 2.1 weather crash by go to settings, apps, manage apps, weather provider, clear data. Then open weather. Perfect!
 
Since updating my phone, I notice a lot of lag when typing text-messages. Don't know if this happens with anyone else. It is very frustrating.

You have the "no sound" or "silent call" bug. As far as we know, there's no solution to it. You need a replacement phone. Take it to Verizon.
 
No Facebook pictures for contacts :( When I try and link a friend to their profile no names show up, I'm logged into Facebook for HTC and the app no idea why they aren't showing up. I thought maybe this morning it work (I got the OTA last night) but they still aren't there.
