Help My Contacts are randomly being erased.

I have a Note5 on Verizon with the latest OS and my contacts are erased randomly.
i will start a text and will look for the last message, gone.
look in contacts, nothing, phone calls, nothing.
i have to go back to my Gmail contacts on my laptop to find the number
i punch in the number and the text conversations come back. without the name

help....

How full is your internal storage? If it is full, Android may be randomly deleting the conversation because it has no place to store it.

Yeah, not a lot of wiggle room there. Try freeing up some space.
