Can I use only the fingerprint feature??

I like the fingerprint feature. I used it on my Galaxy S7 to access my bank. I don't like having to pair it with another security feature; pin, pattern or password. Is there a way around this?

I don't think there is, and that's there just in case you either lose your programmed fingertip in an industrial accident or sutures etc, or  you encounter some hardware failure and the fingerprint scanner no longer works, or perhaps a software blip like fingerprint data is lost. I see a lot of gripes here about wonky fingerprint issues. If you find a way to bypass, I'd strongly recommend against it. No print, no backup PIN, the phone is useless and Google will not help you unlock it.

Probably not. It sounds like it's insisting on two factor authentication for extra security. Two factor authentication is something you have, i.e. your fingerprint, and something you know, i.e. a PIN, password or pattern. A thief might cut off and steal your finger as well as your phone, but he may not know your passwords, PINs, etc.
