How many pics can you send in text

I had a Note 7 and had to go back to my Note 4 and I can only send two pics at a time in a text message. Talking with other people (Iphone users) they can send as many as they want. Any ideas on why I can only attach two pics at a time?

are you sending them as an SMS message (you aren't ;) , MMS message (you might be), email, IM, whatsapp? etc

Probably a file size limitation. Some message apps automatically downsample images while others send full resolution. Many carriers restrict the size of MMS messages so if you stick hi rez images there, you'll easily hit a wall.

The phone automatically sends as mms message (I'm guessing as it always says changing to mms). I am using the stock Note 4 message app. I've tried different settings on the camera and haven't had a setting that changes the two pic limit. What suggestions do ya'll suggest for a better message app or better camera settings?

Any text message with an attachment will ALWAYS be converted to MMS. That's the way messaging works. Just to test the limit, give Google's Messages a spin. It's fairly generic and simple to use. I can add more than two images to my texts using that.

It's because they're using iMessage, which is a proprietary Apple only system, and is only available to iOS devices and Macs, and NOT Samsung etc.

How come every single text, attachment or not, says mms and not sms? Having such a problem with messages especially when trying to send pics.

It depends on your texting app.
Textra has worked like a charm sending photos or just texts

The above text is with the stock app. I Jane had 'go' 'what's app', 'messenger' and others but just can't find a great messaging  app. Haven't tried textra though.

Is it part of a group message? Sent to an iPhone who's using iMessage? Using odd fonts that convert it to a graphic?

Just throwing stuff out here.
