Any one owns a smart projector (Android OS Integrated)

I have an AAXA M5 projector. It doesn't have Android. But I saw they had a new Android model, which is only $199 on Amazon. Since I am happy with the M5, I wanted to buy the new P2A for my niece as a go to college gift. It's said to have on board Android 5.0. Is it too outdated? What do you see Android gadgets in the market? Are they worth it? Can they catch up the update of Android trend?

Android 5.x is fine for running current versions of Kodi, and playing videos from USB or from a laptop or something via HDMI. Most of the Chinese smart-projectors I've seen do come with Android 5.x. As for any future updates to 6.x or 7.x. maybe, but you'd definitely need to check with the actual manufacturer for that, AAXA Technology. http://www.aaxatech.com.cn/

If it's worth it or not, depends on what your particular requirements for a projector are. These AAXAs are only 130 lumens, very low powered, which might be OK in a small darkened room, a metre or two from the screen at the most.

Yeah, the M5 is much brighter than P2A. My niece likes it tho. After all, she is in a dorm, not enough space for a TV.
