Help Problems with instagram stories Note 8

Good day all,

The problem I have is with instagram stories. Apparently my other devices have no problems with those. Whenever i tried to play a video on instagram story, the video would start, and then with a sudden pause, the video would skip forward a few seconds. This resulted in me not being able to watch the full video. I am not too sure if is the issue regarding the compatibility of note 8 with instagram. And i am also not sure if is instagram's problem or note 8's problem. I have already reported the problem to instagram as well, awaiting their response. in the meantime, i just want to know if there are any note 8 users that are experiencing this issue?

Sounds like something specific to your device.

What carrier are you using?
Did you use some backup from another phone to install on this note 8 you use?

If so that could be an issue there.

Have you done any treoubleshoting steps other than sending an error to IG?

If you've done nothing,

Clear the cache of the device (not just the app).
Reboot the devce
Uninstall and re install the app.

Do you have any issues publishing a video to IG? Do you have any issues playing videos that happen in your IG stream?

I'm unsung a T-Mobile variant. Did a clean install of apps (not using a backup) and jive had no issues with IG.

There WAS an issue where some cats were having issues publishing videos to IG a couple weeks ago, but that has been remedied.

Thank you very much for your response. Actually I haven't try clearing the cache of the device (only done it for the app). I have not tried posting any videos or instagram stories so I do not know if there are any issues with those. I will definitely try the 3 steps that you have mentioned. Once again thank you.

I am running into these same issues with instagram and more on my Note 8---do not get any of the updates nor features but on my old iphone they show up

the note 8 and iphone are two different devices.

if you are having issues with a particular app, you can clear the cache or uninstall and reinstall the app.
if you have aggressive battery saving apps/schemes installed, the could be interfering with our issue.

i use this app dail and have had zero issues.

My problem is with the instagrams stories. When someone publishes something with text near the edge,like in the photo, instagram cut it. Could it be something specific of my note 8?

I'm thinking aspect ratio's. Play around with them and see if it helps, also complain to Instagram, my gut to me it's a Note 8 issue but it is a problem with the app.

When i uninstall and reinstall the app the new features show up---but once the app closes down they dissapear again. I tried turning off power saver and that didn't affect it at all. When i reinstall, it is there until the app inevitably crashes or I close it in the background. I also find the words run off the screen due to the ratio.

The note 8 has an ‘Infiniti display” and wraps beyond the screen.

Most phones dont have this curvature screen, so things will appear as cut off.

This seems to only happen on the stories section of Instagram. For now, until instagram makes changes, you’re stuck with what you see.

I also have an app form a DJ who does live streams. That app gets cut off on the sides just as you see on your IG stories.
