Help Samsung & Google App Integration Questions

Hi Guys,

I just got a Note 8 and absolutely love everything about it. Coming from the 6P, I was worried about not having the stock Android experience, but Samsung apps are up to par with Google's if not slightly better.

HOWEVER...

I do use the Google ecosystem (mainly Google Drive) and have a few questions about integrating Samsung and Google apps to provide a more seamless experience.

1. When I use Bixby to search for something on Google (ex. Hi Bixby, Google the meaning of life), Bixy would open Samsung Internet to search on Google. I've went into Settings > Apps > Bixby and made sure it's not the default app for anything. Is there a way to have Bixby use Chrome instead?

2. When I use Bixby to set a reminder, it's saved into the Samsung Reminders app. When I use Google Assistant to set a reminder, it saves it into the Google app. Is there a way to default this so that Bixby saves it to the Google app? The reason being is because I use Google Inbox app, which also displays my reminders. But it doesn't show reminders saved in Samsung Reminders

Any advice appreciated!

As far as I know there is no way to change those.

However, I would point out that Samsung's internet app is superior to Chrome, even based on a poll on a different Android forum. Plus it has ad block add ons and syncs bookmarks to Chrome.

agree to use samsungs internet app over chrome and i am a major fan boy of vanilla google.

you are welcome to disable bixby and use stock google to get the experience you are seeking. you have to appreciate that samsung wants you to use their bixby system ence why it has its own button.

bixby can open the app then you can use voice to input your query, but that may be more than you care to do...

Right, I use Bixby and Google Now simultaneously, but is there a way to sync Samsung Reminders with Google Reminders?

If I use Samsung Reminders and I'm on my Macbook which has Google Reminders set up, I'd miss the notification....

you go into settings, type under search "default apps". select it. from there, you can choose Chrome as your default browser app. It should pull up chrome for every action going forward

It would open Chrome for everything except Bixby, which defaults to opening Internet app....
