Downloaded pictures cannot be seen on Gallery and My File

I have tried deleting .nomedia
I installed media. Re. Scan or any other apps that the net told me to do.

My dl are entitled with numbers and cannot be opened even in My Files. If I press it, it only gives me options to delete, cancel or dl again.

My s8 us still new. I started having this problem when I started transferring pictures to my laptop.

I dl images from google image. Usually, I long press the image and wait till the option for 'dl image,' 'copy link' etc. Comes up.

Is it possible that you transferred the image in question by mistake and now it not showing up?

Try the following: download a picture from chrome, then press the three dots on the top right in chrome, and press downloads. Do the pictures show up there, and can you open then there?

Are you renaming the dl files? I don't see a proper file extension. They need to end in .jpg or .PNG, .Tif, .BMP.....
