Video randomly stopping after nougat update on Samsung galaxy s7

Hey guys,

I've updated to nougat on my EE Samsung galaxy s7, UK
But facing issues.
Video randomly stop, YouTube, sky sports etc, while watching a video it just randomly pauses
The screen brightness randomly changes shortly from light to dark

Anyone else facing these issues?
Anyone know if related to the nougat update?
Any fixes around?

Thanks
Squiral

It's always good to mention what you've tried in order to fix it.

If you didn't restart your phone yet, go ahead and do that. See if it helps

Hey I've tried a restart with no luck.
Haven't really tried anything else.
I'm sure it's after the nougat update.

Very annoying
Any help would be appreciated.

Before you go full nuclear try clearing cache for the problematic apps. If that doesn't work try clearing data for them.

There's also always the option to clear system cache in recovery mode and see if that works before you wipe your whole phone.

Yes wiping the whole phone is a headache.
It's happening on all video apps, plus a new app I downloaded sky sports football.
How do i wipe the system cache? I'll try that.
Battery drain is based since nougat as well

To enter recovery mode turn off your phone and then press power, home and volume up. Once in recovery mode navigate with your volume keys to clear cache. Are you only having the problem with online videos? It might be worthwhile checking you haven't got any power saving features turned on which are restricting data.

Yes online videos as well. And ones on showbox for example
I've checked all power saving and brightness settings nothing is on that shouldn't be.
Very annoying I'll try the cache wipe and see how that works. Thanks shotgun84

Hey guys,
Wiping the system cache didn't do it
But factory reset fixed the issue.

A full reset of the phone is painful, not as easy as the iPhone to get everything back as before.
Do you guys know a the best way to factory reset but have the phone set up exactly like before, I. E settings, apps, messages etc

People here say to put the phone in recovery..then back up..I did a back up two weeks ago but haven't tried, so I can't give faith to that...I'm gonna let some body else to say their experience with it..
