USB debugging LG G6

how to enable usb debugging for LG G6. At first it was always greyed out. Then tried disconnection from PC, which worked but, as soon as I connected to PC it greyed out again. I'm trying to tether w/PDA net, USB mode. Any help appreciated. Bill

usually when it's greyed out i can unplug the usb and replug it and be ready to touch the button at the same instant and it lets it get connected.

I guess my timing is not as good as yours. I've tried about 10 times and no luck. I think it's laughing at me. :)
Thanksl
any other ideas appreciated

Go to settings>general>about phone>Software Info and tap on build version 8 or 10 times until it tells you that you are a developer. Then you can go back to settings and you should now see developer options. From there you can enable USB debugging. :)

Thank you... I have done that and, it works. BUT, my problem is, if I plug in USB cord,...a sort of cloud comes over that setting. You can still see that it was turned on and, on my phone the button goes to a blue /green in color when turned on. So, you can see the color but, with a sort of cloud or fog covering it. When I unplug USB , it becomes bright and clear.

That "sort of cloud" thing sounds like an overlay. Usually you need to give the device permission to connect and I suspect that's what your seeing, but I don't know why it's not giving you more than the overlay and not the button.
