Overlay issue

Can not find the guilty application that cause the overlay feuture
No new application was installed
Could a hacker be trying to spy on my phone?

I doubt a hacker would pop-up an overlay. It's probably some sort of adware or a system notification.

When does this happen? What exactly is the overlay? Just a translucent box?

Thanks quick response.i dont see most apps in list, Under 'draw over apps'.any app i open, asking TURN OFF OVERLAY
Suggestions?
 
It may not be the app that you open that is spawning the overlay. It might even be from a cached browser window. In the list of apps allowed to draw over other apps, you could just turn them off one by one until it stops.

Appreciate your reply.as stated,i did turn off every app is see,THO MOST APPS INSTALLED does not appear on the list. Not even under system apps.i deleted plenty apps,with no success.also got a fresh whatsapp Download.cant open photos even.
 
Any way to provide a screen shot?

You may have to reset your phone to clear this up. (Make sure everything is backed up first, though)

It seems to be the only solution
First time today i experience this.
Gonna take 3hours to login to apps.
Rather will delete apps one by one.
Until whatsapp app permission can be set
 
Not sure you can. Only apps that are written to do that in the first place will be in the list. What happen when you try to switch between apps with the task switcher?
 
No problem with switching. Issue is with SETTING APP PERMISSION... No app settings can be modified. Would you like to chat via whatsapp? I will provide my nr
 
Any app that was installed or updated right before the problem started is suspect, but the question is how much time are you willing to try to find the exact problem. Unfortunately this isn't one of those "just turn off X" and your problem is gone things.

A lot of times it's just easier -- and ultimately faster -- to perform a factory reset and restore your data.

Also consider factory reset, tho run the risk of app configuration failure.in terms of logging in,multiple email accounts,and so forth.
I do remember the recent sequences of apps.
Do you know about a bt speaker including light bulb, that requires a app to operate. Could this be the answer? Same question goes for, drone control application
 
When I receive this message from an app, there is a button in the message which when pressed, brings up a list of all apps which overlay the screen.

Yes the screen shot is what i struggling with.
EVERY APP in list is disabled.
Most app dont appear in list.
Other suggestions?
