LG G6 always on display

got my G6 and im confused if I should even be using the always on display, does it affect the battery life that much because its an lcd screen or is it just okay?

yeah I noticed that, but will it drain so much that the feature is useless or is it acceptable? if it takes a few hundred of mah im fine with it because of the lack of notif led

It's not hard on the battery but it's a lot dimmer than I thought it would be when I used it for awhile. Just today though my job started this email/text notification initiative so I'll have a reason to use it a lot more. I'm not worried the battery won't make it through the day.

It is rather dim so it doesn't really effect (my) battery usage enough for me to notice. I do like having it there so I can glance at my phone without having to pick it up.

thanks! yeah its a lot dimmer than that compared on amoled once but that makes it use less battery so i think its okay, although I would have wanted an option to stop its auto brightness im usually around bright places and the always on display adjusts aggressively making it brighter causing me to be concerned about battery life.
