Root ???

Is there away to root Moto Z2 force yet ?
Try Odin version :)

IT will root, flash, unflash, do whatever you want, as long as you can try it out, do not under any circanstances, disconnect the usb away from the comp, google more and more of it, it took me a few dozen weeks googling the crap out of my SG3.

I bought my Z2 Force from Verizon last December & have been loving the phone so far. My only gripe is that the FoxFi mobile tether app I had grown accustomed to using on my Note 4 no longer works on my Z2 Force, at least not wirelessly as the phone came with Nougat installed and blocked that ability. I can still connect it to my Windows 10 computer and use that to share the Wi-Fi signal to my other devices. I have been checking xda-developers.com on a daily basis, hoping to find some good news on rooting this thing, or least unlocking the boot loader since that sucker's been totally locked down, but no luck. Long story short, is the method you posted meant to be used with just Sprint and T-Mobile, since they're not nearly as locked down as the Verizon equivalent, or can it be used on mine as well? My only real reason for wanting root is so I can wirelessly tether my phone again without having to plug it in all the time. It's not a huge pain or anything, but it would be somewhat more convenient.

P.S: Sorry for making this so long;)

You should post up more on here. Thanks though for the help though. Oreo upgrade will be really nice, because then you get to have it disconnected for a long time... Wish the battery was like the ps vita though, I only plug in mine every few weeks :D

I've actually been running Oreo on mine for about a couple weeks or more, and the only gripe(s) I have with the build are the 'Slow Charging' notification that I can't get rid of (my phone is plugged into my computer throughout the day, but it still shows even when plugged into it's charger), and the fingerprint sensor seemed to have gotten a little goofy, but not to the point where I can't use it. I was able to hide the 'Slow Charging' notification so it doesn't show with the other icons in the notification area so it's not so annoying. As for comparing the Z2 Force's battery to that of the PS Vita, are you talking total run time, or just how long a charge lasts with the unit off? There's also the fact the two devices are very different, and the Vita doesn't have a data connection that's always on like your average smartphone does. There are steps you can take to make your phone's battery last longer such as disabling GPS & Bluetooth when they're not needed, and keeping your screen brightness turned down. Mine is cranked almost all the way down, and it's still plenty bright enough for me.

About 96% of the time, I use my Vita as a CD player, (Yup that old) though played Last Blade 2, and Touch My Katamari on and off, and still the battery, will last about a few weeks in hibernation mode, wish to profit on that battery techy on a Z2, since my Z2 is bricked, yet I am running like an "all in one tool" and got to the point of where it saids "Booting should only last around 5 to ten minutes." Well that is a lie, sitting here and now its been an hour or so, and still black screen of death though, I do not want to take the ride up to Verizon way up there, and honestly rant on it on the people who sold me this amazing cell phone back in Sept. I had everything of data completely off and it will last a few times, yeah hate the slow charing rate too, though did you try out the default usb port and try different wall plug ins too?
I still have my old Droid Turbo one and it charged around 17 minutes vs. 15 i got from the car / wall plug in...

OK, now I get your battery comparison. The thing is, though, smartphones don't have a hibernation feature. The closest thing to that would be, depending on the phone and the version of Android it's running, is something called deep sleep mode. Even with this, though, no phone will last more than a few days at most on a single charge, at least not without turning it off;) I do use the included charger from time-to-time, and it charges as quickly as it's supposed to. As for your 'black screen of death', are you able to get into recovery mode? If so, try to do a factory reset. Also, how did your phone get into its current situation?

Hold power button and volume until you can see it first, scroll over to FDR settings, and do a FDR, I got a new phone but same model and everything, been addicted to the moto for almost like on and off for a long time now... It does take some timt to get used to it though.

Below are the top 7 tools to root Android online that you can use.
1. One Click Root
2. Kingo Root
3. SRSRoot
4. iRoot
5. KingRoot
6. Superuser X [L]
7. Root Genius
Remember backup all the important data on the computer before you do it.
That is all suicide, i only done like like a King Kong root and this one with, like a Greek Alphabet letter . That was a long time ago.

Either that or do not use anything at all, even though it might mess up your phone, and had to a lot of googline, like I went two weeks without rest and trying to find a patch for my droid turbo. Root is like suicide kids!

Rooting of Android devices is a process of gaining control of the device operating system. After rooting the device, you can install additional software that manufacturer won't allow to install; customize every theme/graphic; block adverts on application seamlessly; download any app, regardless of app store; frees internal storage improve performance and extended battery life; backup Android freely. However, just like the says going "Every coin has two sides", with above advantages you can easily be convinced to root your device. But it is good to remember that greater power comes with greater responsibility thus rooting come with its own risks and expenses which include.

Security Risks
Might Brick Android Device
Cause Update Issues
Lose the Warranty of Your Android Phone
I explained everything so far man, no need to double post this :)

Even if your bootloader is unlocked and sim unlocked. The firmware may prevent you from using a different Carrier sim. Aka T-Mobile ROM work's only with T-Mobile even if unlocked. The only firmware I found was US Cellular ROM. no locks any sim.
