restart the phone without resetting

I realized when I need to restart the phone . The phone doesn't have restart option . It tells me alternative start press power and hold power button for ten seconds. To be honest I fear my phone will request me to reset the phone . Does anyone know how to restart the phone without power and hold power button for ten seconds ? Please help

I don't know ZTE phones, but on any phone I've used pressing and holding the power key just restarts it (reset requires pressing something else at the same time). So I expect your worries are unjustified.

I assume the phone is locked-up in some way so you can't just power down normally, in which case your alternatives are probably limited ("probably" because we don't know your situation). If you have usb debugging enabled you can use a computer with ADB installed to instruct the phone to reboot, but I don't know whether you are in a state where you could enable that.

Don't have a ZTE ZMax Pro, got a Moto G5 Plus... In Settings, under Backup and Reset, you'll see a selection (or should) for Factory Data Reset. It'll still wipe your phone's internal memory but should leave the SD card alone unless you check the box telling it to also wipe the SD card. It's the same as a factory reset without the button combination...

Why are you restarting or otherwise interested in wiping your phone?

Some phones the only option you see is to turn it off, nothing else, and I guess this ZTE is one of those. To actually reset it, you'd need to deliberately do it in the settings.

Oops--just noticed this is a ZMax Pro... in my Blade V8 Pro, if I press the power button for a couple of seconds I get a screen with 4 options (Airplane mode, Ring, Restart, and Shut Down). Pressing Restart just restarts the phone; it won't wipe anything. In every other Android device I have had, pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds just powers the phone down--nothing is wiped.

Just hold the power down until it forces a restart. It won't wipe, it'll just reboot. If doesn't reboot, (black screen) power on like normal.

You'll be fine unless it persists, cause software will sometimes get corrupted
