Loading Messages issue

Just recently (past 3 days), when trying to reply to an email on the phone, Loading Messages comes up and I am unable to do so.

No known upgrades to system have occurred.

I've cleared Email cache.

I've cleared phone cache.

If I "interrupt" this process by pressing the BACK key, it looks like I can type a reply. When I press Send, get the same "loading messages" that flashes up. Doesn't send.

Then need to BACK out again and it asks if I want to Cancel, Discard or Save. If I save, puts it in drafts.

Go to Drafts and try to send - get Loading Messages again!

That's an issue with a WebView update as discussed here.

What you need to do is to go to settings>app and tap the menu (three dots in upper right) and show system apps. Then find Webview (could be listed as "Android System Webview") tap on it and uninstall updates.

That should fix it so you can reply. You should also disable auto updates so it doesn't update and force you to uninstall them again.

You may only have a disable option, which will uninstall the updates in the process. Perfectly safe.
