How do you recover texts from Android?

I deleted some text messages a few days ago but I only just installed Dumpster, GT Recovery and DiskDigger to try to retrieve them but I haven't had any luck. Will it not work on files older than the install date?

Sometimes I need to be rooted and I still can't figure out how to do it after trying for an hour.

Thank you

I'm pretty sure you can't retrieve texts once they're deleted, because it's effectively a secure data erasure in Android. All texts are held in a single database file in the system area, any records that are deleted from that database, they're gone forever, and also it's an encrypted file system as well. Your carrier may retain logs of texts sent and received, usually for law enforcement purposes.

Oh. I tried my account at t-mobile because the number is all I would need and not really the messages themselves but it wasn't showing incoming numbers that text.

Hey,
I think it is because the deleted texts are already overwritten by the new data on your phone. After deleting from your Android phone, the deleted data or files are still be saved on your phone. But you can't see them. With new data being added to your phone, they will overwrite the deleted data. Then the deleted data will permanently deleted from your phone. Nowadays, all the data recovery for Android phone programs can only find the deleted data or files which are not overwritten by new data. So if you can't find them after scanning your phone with data recovery program, the texts should be overwritten by new data and you will lose them forever. Sorry about that. So next time, if you lose a data from your phone and you want to get back them, please stop using your phone and turn off the Wifi connection. This can keep the biggest chance for you to find and recover the deleted data on your Android phone. After that, you need to select an android data recovery program to scan your phone and recover the data for you.
