Im wanting to know is there any apps or something built into the phone where i can record my background surroundings for a few hours at a time. Wanting to record some conversations needed for my line of work on my phone. Hoping theres something out there. I remember reading there was similar on the iphone where taxi men record all whats going on in their phones. I need similar for my line of work.

Not knowing just where you reside, have you checked your local eavesdropping and privacy laws before you do this? It's one thing for a fabricated reality show to do this, another for reality.

There are audio recording apps that will record as long as they're running. But I think the problem will be is when another app wants to use the phone's audio, like phone calls or OK Google or Bixby or something. The audio recording is going to stop.

From what I've seen taxi men and women are very likely to be using hailing or ride-sharing apps on their phones, like Uber or Didi, etc, which would definitely rule out audio recording. Also taxicabs usually have cameras in them, which record the sound as well, for security.
