Poor reception on Note 8

Ebarr

Lurker
The last few weeks my reception with my Note 8 has torpedoed. With every call people complain I am cutting out. I replaced a bluetooth device no improvement. I swapped the phone on warranty still no improvement. Now I am thinking maybe it's my Gear 3 somehow causing this problem but I have been wearing the Gear for almost two months with no issues. Any suggestions?

Does this happen anywhere or only in certain locations (home, office, car, etc)? I'm just asking because I was in my local Verizon store one day and they checked my account for something totally unrelated. I was then told that since I lived in an area with known poor reception, that I qualified for a FREE cell phone booster (regular price $250).

Very interesting. My next step in my investigation is to test reception in other areas because yes this is happening at home where I work so spend the most time at. So at this point not sure if I should be speaking with my carrier or Samsung. Thank you for the tip.

I'd check with your carrier first. They should know the areas of weak reception. Cell phones generally don't work well in houses or buildings with some exceptions. Try it in your house and as you are talking, move closer to a window. If that works, it may just be that it is not working in your house. If it doesn't work well even in your front yard, but well at other places such as in town or in well populated areas, then I'd say you are just in a bad area for reception.

Ask your carrier about a cell phone extended and see if that helps. You can always return it if it doesn't.

If you have Sprint then that could be the case? Their Service is not good Compare to verizon At&t or tmobile . I would Check currier and samsung for maybe a replacement

My WiFi reception is poo. I can log in a public BT WiFi Openzone at my house with a very weak signal, my Note 8 will not receive anything, but my 5/6 year old Note 10.1 logs in automatically most of the time! Larger antenna I guess.
