I'll probably post a few different questions about tablet batteries on this thread, for now it's this;
For some reason, sometimes if I get my tablet off the charger and it's more than about 97%, then sometimes it'll go up one percent even though it's off the charger.

This is probably because it's actively determining the guess at remaining battery life. If the screen brightness changes or activities in the background decrease it may think you've got more time left suddenly.

This happens on my MacBook ALL the time when it's running low and I drop down the brightness or close browser tabs or Photoshop or something. I'd imagine it's something similar in this case.

Also, it seems like if it's at about 90%, then it starts taking forever to get to 100%, and rarely gets to it.

What type of tablet? And are you using the stock charger?

That's actually pretty common behaviour for lithium ion batteries and unless it never reaches 100%, it's nothing to worry about.

When the battery is first put on charge, the voltage shoots up quickly. This behavior can be compared to lifting a weight with a rubber band, causing a lag. The capacity will eventually catch up when the battery is almost fully charged (Figure 3). This charge characteristic is typical of all batteries. The higher the charge current is, the larger the rubber-band effect will be. Cold temperatures or charging a cell with high internal resistance amplifies the effect.

Have you tried charging when it's turned off? Does it make a difference?

I haven't, but it's not really a problem, I was just curious

Also, for some reason it's like the device doesn't know it's charging until you turn it on if it isn't on airplane mode... 🤔
