Isn't every presidential election the choice between the lesser of two evils? :confused:

Heck the last election (some) people voted for Bush because people said he'd be a good person to have a beer with. The irony in that is he dosn't drink. :p
 
McCain has a history. Obama has hope and change. It would be nice if Obama could pitch something other than "hope" like perhaps something he's accomplished. I hope that a million dollars shows up in my bed in the morning. But in reality .... I'll be in my office an hour later.

Besides ... wasn't Obama pitching change a year before the market tanked? Looks like he got what he asked for early. But for all of you inclined to vote for him ... if he wins ... expect more change on top of the market corrections. Change ... means something different that you have right now. Take a real good look around.....because I have a feeling he's right ... he's going to make some changes .... god help us if he wins.
 
I'm with the rest that it's pretty sad to have this choice. I think I would have even rather had Hillary:eek:ous but I'm gonna have to go with Mccain.
Actually, they both scare me for different reasons but seriously scare me.
 
The biggest reason I can't support Obama, is he wants to give away the world, by punishing those who worked the hardest to get where they are. I bust my A$$ to be in the tax bracket he wants to start increasing taxes for, and for what? My reward for working hard is to have my dollars given to those who don't? No thanks.

Obama wants to open the doors for illegals (not to say McCain is any better on that front though). He wants to build a health plan for illegal immigrants? What part of ILLEGAL do you not understand?!?!? I'm all for immigration (my family is one of immigrants) but it needs to be done legally. I agree we need to improve our immigration process, but not by ignoring the facts. If I have to pay for health care, so do they. Plain and simple.

Obama is too "racially sensitive" for my taste. I feel in this day and age, race is not an inhibitor. I feel "recognizing" (read: exploiting) race (or sex, for that matter) when it comes to gov't involvement is a step back in our evolutionary process. There are plenty of minority CEO's, as well as female CEO's. Do they do any better or worse because of their complexion or sexual organs? No? Then why treat it as an issue. We're all equally capable of greatness, get over it and get off your duff.

I could go on and on ;)

The basic fact of the matter is, the ideal President would have Democratic values, with Republican sensibilities. No left or right wing nutjobs, we need someone that can see both sides of the coin and do what this great country NEEDs, not wants.
 
Plain and simple if mccain had obamas record at school with harvard and stuff and obama was a 72 year old war veteran who graduated 5th from the bottom of his class AND with palin running as his vice president this would be a land slide for mccain...people refuse to see that..I know I'm not gonna change anybody vote but even if its for that half second while they make an excuse..they realise I have a good point. I know school isnt everything but if the situation was reversed it wouldnt even be a race...and yet its close right now. I could go on and on about this tax issue with people..the fact is NO ONE is going to go from fich to poor or even rich to middle class under obamas tax plan..all those who were rich before taxes...will be rich after it..on the other hand there have been more billionares made in the last 8 years more than any other time in history period..these are the facts...
 
They're both liars. However, I'll always side with someone who supports people bringing themselves up and not having the government hold their hand through life. Specifically though, I feel like I know what I'm getting with McCain, the good and the bad. I do not feel confident saying the same about Obama. I'm tired of hearing McCain accuse Obama of outright socialism and I'm tired of hearing Obama accuse McCain of being George Bush. Which has never made much sense to me to be honest. McCain and Bush had one of the most bitter primary races I've been alive for. And I don't know how many people here saw when McCain had all but sewn up the nomination and it was time for Bush to do his Republican duty and endorse McCain, but that was one of the most awkward moments I've ever seen live. McCain had the fake smile running at 120% and Bush was trying to be as vague as possible when talking about why McCain would be a good President. They do not like each other one bit. Also, anyone who pals around with Joe Lieberman is probably not welcome at the Bush Family Thanksgiving Dinner.

I'm sure it's because McCain's voting record sides with Bush's policy choices 91% of the time.

I switched my registration to republican from libertarian to vote in the primary for Ron Paul, but I'm backing Obama 100% now.

I hate high taxes, I hate the very idea of socialism, but I hate lying, stupidity, and going against your principals to kiss ass even more.

Obama strikes me as extremely intelligent and doesn't seem to be afraid to defend what he stands for. Even if I find myself completely against things he does as president later, I can at least assume he's doing them because he believes in them, rather than because someone like Keating wants him to.

heres my philosophy about high taxes..someone correct me if I'm wrong... ive believe obama understands that if you give that extra money to the middle class...ALL OF IT will pour right back into the economy... on the other hand if the wealthy ceos and businesses get that same amount of money, it will be spent in other areas such as vacations and such where a percentage of the money goes to fuel..and a percentage of THAT goes to the middle east and elsewhere... so many people wonder where the money is going? there's your answer its being leaked out into other countries.. I believe Obama knows this but doesnt want to say it in a tight political race.

That doesn't convince me. They've both voted for questionable things because of some stupid niggling addendum to the bill. I'm more interested in the percentage where they've voted against their parties. It's easy for Obama now to look like he's making a stand when pretty much everyone has a problem with the current administration. People aren't going to be falling over themselves with praise for him if he doesn't hold true to his claims, which he can't possibly do. No one in that office can. And quite frankly I prefer it that way.
 
I didn't say Obama doesn't also vote the party line, I was merely offering an explanation as to why people consider McCain to be W jr.

It's not because he likes Bush, it's because he agrees with him ideologically 91% of the time.

It's true - the difference between rich people and regular people is that rich people consider making money a hobby and regular people have hobbies that make them blow a lot of money. Our economy is based on blowing money almost exclusively now that we pretty much don't manufacture anything ourselves any more.

I've never met a millionaire that wasn't always trying to either save a buck or make a buck. The only exception is the trust-fund kiddies and obscenely wealthy heirs.

As for the poor, they are basically stuck at the bottom because our society makes it both very hard to get out of poverty and very easy to stay in poverty but not starve to death.
 
The choice is simple do you choose a duce or a turd sandwich. LOL!! South Parks the best.

Both choices suck but we got to decide a duce or a turd!:)
