Best Replacement Battery?

The safest (and often most expensive) way to go is with an OEM from the LG:

or another option is to get an equivalent (go with an exact match) from a reliable, third-party retailer:

or if you feel it's worth the risk, some vendors offer their own, custom solutions. ZeroLemon for instance has a pretty good reputation and it's selling this 10,000 mAh battery pack/case:

Svim posted a link to Newegg that is selling the OEM battery from LG. You can still get the OEM batteries from retail stores or websites.

I'm shopping for some myself. I like to keep extra batteries rather than carrying a charger or my power bank around
 
LG doesn't sell the battery direct that I know of - but you can find the OE replacement quite a few places. Also a number of the non LG branded battery kits - are still LG batteries.

And I'm glad I read this as I need ot invest in a replacement or 2.
 
I have used many..many different aftermarket batteries for my LG devices over the years and never had a problem. I always purchase a brand that has a positive review history on Amazon for the basic protections of not blowing up or melting down and I have been good.
There are some basics that you should expect...

1) Battery life varies between not only the manufacturers but within the same brand & batch. Not by much but it seems that each battery acts a bit different.

2) The batteries last for years but with constant usage the chargers will burn out about every 8 months or so due to heat and the fact that there is not ventilation in those little plastic boxes. I have been able to prolong their lives by drilling a couple holes in the charger bodies to get a bit of air movement. but they are cheap to replace so no big deal buying a new one every 8 months or so.

3) On Amazon the battery capacity ( mAh. ) are fairly accurate but on Ebay you are dealing with more of a sketchy group of vendors typically from china and they don't mind adding a few ( mAh's ) to there description to help customers make there decision but if the batteries have the same dimensions they typically have the same capacity. So if you see a replacement that says " High capacity replacement 4200 mAh " and the OEM is the same size and is " 3200 mAh " then count on it being around" 3200 mAh ".

Had good luck with these brands : ( TOTHL, JUBOTY, Trendon, Sporting persistance )

To elaborate on pt 3, while mike is not wrong to say alot of sellers are sketchy with inaccurate markings on the mAh, its absolutely possible that a battery with the same dimensions hold a higher capacity.

If u have torn up a battery and see whats inside, u will basically see rolls of carbon paper wrap around the core. The amount or layers of wrap determines how much a charge a battery can hold, and even with same dimensions, its absolutely possible to "squeeze" in quite a couple of layers of wraps to make the battery have a higher capacity, difference is end day your battery will be heavier in weight within the same dimensions.
 
I have several batteries including stock LG batteries and aftermarket.
The absolute best battery I have is by a company called Shenmz.
It says 4200mAh, but I haven't tested that. I can just confirm that
after hard usage for over a year, they still last from about 6:30am to 6:00pm.
One problem with the stock batteries is they are too old. Most were
made up until 2016. The Shenmz outlasts stock by a good 4-5 hours.
 
Well, the last posting about the best replacement battery for an LG V20 was from over a year ago. My two aging LG OEM batteries are starting to lose capacity and searching for fully compatible replacements has been frustrating.

Apparently, some batteries labeled LG BL-44E1F in their online advertising are actually unbranded but with a counterfeit LG label slapped on - and they often don't last even a year. Some give an error message when installed and are not usable. Even batteries sold directly by LG are getting bad customer reviews.

Other high capacity 3rd party batteries won't fit in your standard LG V20 without a new case cover, and some have a variety of other issues according to customers. Heck, I might even need a new charger to accommodate one since they are thicker and have different charging characteristics.

What are you guys doing lately when you need new batteries for an LG V20 VS995?
 
I've made a point to go with extended batteries much for this reason. It's the only way to get enough battery life for it to be meaningful and useful for me.

Presently using a Perfine branded one from Amazon; would've gone with ZeroLemon but they seem to have just disappeared.
