Not recognizing SD card as internal storage

My device is actually a Nokia 2, but that wasn't an option. I got one from Amazon today to use offline as a music player etc. I added a 32GB memory card and formatted as internal memory. Storage setting is showing plenty of available space, but it's not letting me download or install anything unless I delete something to free up space. What do I need to do?

Restart your device.

Check storage in settings. It should show a larger internal partition and possibly the SD card as internal

You may have to enable developer options to: Enable. 'Force allow apps on external memory'

This setting overrides most apps requirement to stored on the device itself. Moving apps to an SD card can pose a security risk.

That normally happens when a SD Card has been used before at some point and it still has files on it. But you wrote the SD card has been formatted already. Could you please post a screenshot where it says choose SD card for internal storage. I'm just curious because I've never seen that option on my Nokia/ Window phones, but I have seen choose storage location meaning to device or SD card.

Once a microSD card is formatted as internal (adoptable), it's no longer a separate storage media you transfer files or apps to directly, as it's essentially considered to be just added to your phone's storage media and managed by your phone's Android OS.
If you want to go back to using your card as a separate storage media again, you need to go through the process of re-formatting it back to external (portable).

I think you wrote the numbers wrongly while doing the format..
In other words..the bigger space designated for files, music and so on you putted for the external 2..meaning, it's backwards..
You have to the the process all over again..but this time you have to do your numbers right..
