lg x power wont download

i have a lg x power previously with virgin mobile now freedompop my laptop wont acknowledge connection so i can download music not connecting via usb or bluetooth not sure why thinking it has something to do with having an update from a legit carrier since my authorization with freedompop was hinkey
is there a work around should i root i dont know any suggestions would be appreciated

I wouldn't have thought that carrier unlocking, whether "hinky" or not, would have affected connectivity by Bluetooth or USB. What was the exact method you used to unlock the phone? Also what eactly happens when you try connecting it to a computer by Bluetooth or USB, any errors?

Carrier unlocking usually just allows you to use a different network's SIM, e.g. using FreedomPop instead of Virgin Mobile, and that's all it does AFAIK.

i did a factory reset then just inserted sim card when i plug it in it doesnt even acknowledge its connected the phone charges but my laptop music player windows media player still asks to connect a device in order to sync

i transferred number to republic disconnecting from virgins network then i inserted sim but after i enabled voice calls i removed sim but phone still calls out

Is the phone Bluetooth seeing any devices all, e.g. headsets or speakers? Which should prove if the phone's BT is actually working or not.
