Sinus-clearing clip?

I used to be "addicted" to Afrin and now the doctor ordered me to stop and use Apohistamine (sp?) once every day. He said the medicine will actually take effect in 5 days. Now, it hasn't even been 5 days and getting off Afrin is killing me! I can't sleep at night because of the congestion. And I'm losing my mind!

I tried a drug-free nasal strip and that didn't clear my nose of the flesh bubbles. I also tried an intra-nasal clip which is advertised to stop snoring and it didn't work either; it didn't go deep enough into my nose to force the flesh bubbles out of the way and allow for air flow through the nose.

Is there such thing as a nasal clip that can go deep enough into my nose to move the flesh bubbles out of the way and is hard enough to prevent the flesh bubbles from squishing the clip? I thought I saw one, before.

I've had the sinus problems for 12 years, after a really bad cold. Recently I had a really bad mucus problem and thanks to the medicine it's not so bad right now. Still, I have a sinus problem that alternates between my two nostrils and sometimes I get completely congested and parts of my face hurt. The doctor didn't say I have nasal polyps.

The flesh bubbles are the pieces of flesh that block the air flow from my nostrils. I pick a nostril that is congested and I feel a rather sensitive tissue at the end. What are they called?

Are you seeing an ENT (ear,nose, throat ) doctor? If you have fleshy blockage, surely there can be some sort of procedure to correct that.
I'm no doctor for sure, but don't know what that is called.

When I get congested and need to sleep, I smear Vapo Rub all around my nostrils and upper lip. It may sting slightly at first, but it does help.

I really hope you get relief, like I said, I feel for you as I was in a similar boat.

Thanks to the medicine, my sinuses have gotten better. Now I can sleep. Still, I have mucus problems. I get thick mucus stuck in my nose and in the way of airflow, and I occasionally cough out thick, yellow/green mucus. I use NeilMed Sinus Rinse to help get rid of the mucus stuck in my nose. My body still produces thick, excess mucus, but not as rapidly as before.
