Wipe clean an android tablet?

Hi everyone,

I am new to the android field, I would like some help with regards to my recent tablet purchase.

I would like to wipe clean my android tablet and reinstall Android software on it.

I have an app called OneClickRoot for my Mac.

Can anyone guide me through this?

I have attached pictures of my device.

Kind regards,

Mike

Why are you worried there's hidden software? You're running a device using 7.0 (this prevents unauthorized apps writing to the system partition) and on a very recent security update.

A factory reset will wipe whatever you think is on there.

The only spyware or malicious apps were most likely installed by the manufacturer and reinstalling the factory software won't remove those.

What tablet do you own?

Yes but I'm worried that there could be hidden software inside
OK so you're worried about 'hidden software' but did you purchase this tablet new or already used?
If new the odds are there's nothing for you to worry about, if pre-owned than is there some reason as to why you suspect there's some exploit installed on it?

Sorry yes the device was pre-owned, you never know what spy software is on there even in the root? That's why I want to wipe everything clean and start fresh

I'm not sure what my device is but I have uploaded some pictures with all the information
It is pretty important to have the exact tablet I.D. There is no 'universal' Android firmware available to consumers that can run on any Android device. In order to 'reinstall' the operating system, more commonly referred to as 'flashing a ROM' you need to obtain the ROM specific for your device. Also, not every manufacturer even provides ROMs for their products so depending on what make and model of tablet you have, you might not even be able to find what you're asking for. Those pics you uploaded only indicate a model 'S109' which isn't very revealing at all, and even searching for the baseband version only turns up inconclusive results.
Is there any company logos anywhere? Any kind of indication of branding?
Otherwise, unless you can state just why you believe something is wrong, I'd just do a Factory Reset and get on with using your tablet. Or if you're really paranoid, stop aggravating yourself, and just sell it and buy a new model.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by Spy Software in the root, but
if you're running Android 7.0, there is no chance the device is rooted, or has any modifications made to the system partition unless it has an unlocked bootloader.

Seriously, just factory reset and you'll be good to go.

Just to clarify what I mean by spyware. This device was preowned, and there is an app constantly running that I am not sure what it is called but it has loads of numbers and letters on it.

After my factory reset, I still cannot gain access to the Internet without the tablet needing access to my camera, contacts etc

By giving access to camera and contacts, do you mean giving permissions? Like those 'Allow /Deny' buttons?
If yes, it's pretty normal for a browser to ask for such permissions. (If browser is what you meant by internet?)
